Chipping Down the Road

“The Story, The Style, The Spectacle of Sailor Mas” - My piece illustrates my fond memory of my cousin
participating in a school Carnival event as a traditional sailor. Sailors were his favourite character and he
even learnt the dance. With a background of musical notes, a ship and the sun to guide, he chipped away
to the melodious notes of Machel Montano waving his national flag patriotically with our coloured
handprints decorating his shirt. It was a proud moment as confetti rained around him giving off magical
and majestic hues in the sunshine.
