Marise Rodriguez

As an authentic Trinidad Caribbean artist for over 50 years, I've been exhibiting and painting in a vibrant, textured, pointillism, and tactile style. My work often focuses on local historic houses, their unique architectural elements, flora, landscapes, and seascapes. My style and personality are reflected in my paintings through the use of strong primary oils, acrylic with impasto brushwork, and softer tones in watercolors.

I've had the privilege of holding solo exhibitions and participating annually with Women in Art Org of TT, Art Society of TT, Thinkartworks, and Art Gallery in Tobago, among other galleries.

Journey to Paramin

In these lush fertile scenic Hills of Paramin off Morne Coco Road, Maraval. A lone farmer's simple shack sits peacefully within this scenic valley of narrow steep roads winding through picturesque hills, with its rich soil, just perfect for the food and green seasoning crops. These were made famous since the French Colonization days of cocoa and coffee plantations circa 1783,. To this day, one can still hear Patois(kweyol) spoken by the elders, and popular traditions of Parang and Blue Devils of Carnival emanates from this historical area of Trinidad.

Enjoy an enchanting walk and drive through at the entrance to El Suzanne Estate, Cumuto Estate, covered
in Pink Poui blossoms in early March. Located in a peaceful, relaxing, nature-loving location, where the
birds and fauna thrive. This walk of beautiful Poui trees was laid out by the original owner of this family
Estate.
