She graduated from the University of the West Indies with a B.A. in Visual Arts Honours Degree. She again furthered her studies in the year 2004 receiving a Post Graduate Diploma in Education. In 2011 she will be completing her MSc. in Art Therapy at Queen Margaret University in Scotland. She is one of the Directors of an NGO called “Art-Insight” which uses the Arts to aid the differently able community. Jacelle’s ambition is to introduce to the Caribbean the importance of Art not only as an aesthetic medium, but as a medium which can create social healing to individuals and communities.
Her art style reflects topics of personal interest, mainly focused on women in situations of burden and work. As a mother Jacelle wants to portray the strength of women not as women who are successful in business, but women who have the ability to multi task the roles of life while keeping the network of the family together and strengthening cultural traditions and values.
